A 5K race will kick off the festival Monday morning, followed by a parade through downtown Buena Vista at 9:30 a.m. The opening ceremony and political speeches will be at 11 a.m. in Glen Maury Park where there will also be lots of food and live entertainment for the whole family.
The national "Fill the Boot" campaign will be in Danville this Saturday, September 3. The Danville Professional Firefighters Association and the Danville firefighters will be sponsoring a car wash to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy Association. The donation-based car wash will be at the Wendy's on Riverside Drive in Danville from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Come out to enjoy the last dog days of summer at the Paws in the Pool party in Lynchburg on Saturday, September 3.
