The Beer & Wine Festival in Lynchburg is finally coming downtown on Saturday, Sept. 17. You can sample wine and beer from more than 18 wineries and breweries and jam out to some great local bands. Tickets online are $15 dollars and $20 at the door. The festival will be at Riverfront Festival Park on Jefferson Street from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Also on Saturday, Sept 17 is the 37th annual Lynchburg Art Festival at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., you can see artwork from more than 140 artists across the nation. Support local artists at this free event.

Avoca Museum in Altavista will host its 12th annual Harvest Jubilee and Wine Festival Sept. 17th from noon until 6 p.m. It will feature seven Virginia wineries including Alta Vista Vineyards, Gabriele Rausse, Hickory Hill Vineyards, Peaks of Otter Winery, Rebec Vineyards, Sans Soucy Vineyards, and Tomahawk Mill Winery. Tickets are $17 if you want to sample.

The Halifax County Cancer Association is hosting its 7th annual Walk for Hope at the Halifax County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Sept. 17. Proceeds go to cancer patients, and you need to register for the walk. The fundraiser is 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Roanoke Greek Festivall is going Sept. 16-18. Get a taste of the Greek culture and food at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at this free festival. The festival will be Friday 11:00 a.m.- 10:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. and Sunday noon - 7:00 p.m.
