It's ladies' night at Robin Alexander Bistro Wednesday, Sept. 21. There will be good food, good company and of course, good shopping at the Girls Night Out fundraiser.The restaurant is partnering with Frocks For Freedom to bring you the latest trends. The event runs 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and all the money goes to the nonprofit Freedom 4/24, which strives to raise awareness about sexual exploitation of women worldwide.

Roanoke Studio is kicking off a play called Zombie Boyfriend! The Musical. Tickets are $15 dollars in advance or $20 at the door. The performance is at 8 p.m. Sept. 21- Sept. 23 and at 2 p.m. on Sept. 24.. The rockin play is about a college girls that makes a deal with the devil to bring back her boyfriend back from the dead. But it turns out he comes back as a zombie.

Go enjoy some great bluegrass Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Nothin Fancy Bluegrass Festival in Buena Vista. The festival is Sept. 22 – Sept. 25 and will feature more than 15 artists at Glen Maury Park. You can go all three days for $70 or pay $25 for either Thursday or Friday and $30 for Saturday. Organizers will also host a dinner Wednesday night at the pavilion, so bring your favorite covered dish at 6 p.m.

Union Street Theater in Danville presents Smokey Joe's Cafe with a series of concerts Sept. 21- Sept. 25. The celebration features 6 performances with a great group of singers and musicians. It kicks off Wednesday at 6 p.m., and tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students.
