The Ellington in Lynchburg will host The Nighthawks on Saturday, Nov. 19. The band plays a mix of blues, rock and swing, and they'll be on at 8:30 p.m.. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
The American musical, Liberty Smith, will be on stage at E.C. Glass High School Nov. 15 - Nov. 19. The show goes on at 7:30 p.m. and also at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the school's alumni studio theatre. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults.
Come check out crafts and specialty vendors at the Winter Market at Liberty University's Schilling Center Nov. 18- Nov. 20. Tickets are $5 for a three-day pass, and the money goes to the Liberty Godparent Foundation. The hours for the weekend are:
Nov. 18 – 1 p.m.-8 p.m.
Nov. 19 – 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Nov. 20 – 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
In Danville, the Blue Knights VA XIII are hosting the 12th annual Toy Run on Saturday, Nov. 19. It will start with a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. and continue with an afternoon ride at 12:30 p.m. It's $15 or you can bring a new unwrapped toy. The event benefits Danville Social Services Child Welfare Fund so children in foster care centers can have toys for Christmas.
