It's time to get in the Christmas spirit and come out to the Christmas parades in town.

On Thursday, December 1, the town of Brookneal will host its annual Christmas Parade at 7 p.m. on Main Street. Line-up for the floats will begin at 6 p.m.

Check out the "Winter Wonderland" Christmas parade in Bedford on Saturday, Dec. 3. It starts at noon at Peaks Street. The rain date for the parade will be Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Lynchburg Christmas Parade will be on Sunday, Dec. 4 for the first time this year instead of Saturday. The theme is "Christmas Stories" and it starts at 5 p.m. in downtown. The parade will be 2 hours of marching bands, colorful floats, antique car clubs, military units and much more.

Also on Dec. 4 is the old-fashioned Christmas celebration in Appomattox. It begins at 1 p.m. on Main Street and will have carriage rides, carolers, food and a synthetic ice skating rink. The Christmas Parade begins at 4 p.m. followed by a Community of Candles ceremony at 4:30 p.m.
