Thunder, Mavs To Play Twice In Shortened Pre-Season
The Dallas Morning News is reporting that a pair of pre-season games between the Oklahoma City Thunder and defending champion Dallas Mavericks will be played next month before the regular season gets underway.
Eddie Sefko with the DMN says the games will be played December 18th at American Airlines Center in Dallas and December 20th at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
The Mavericks and Thunder faced off in the Western Conference Finals last year with the Mavs winning in six games and eventually defeating the Miami Heat for the team's first NBA title.
Over the weekend, owners and players reached a tentative agreement to end a nearly five-month lockout. That means an abbreviated, 66-game season will begin on December 25th.
Team facilities will be open to players for the first time Thursday and training camps will begin December ninth.
