Lynchburg, VA - Some local ice skaters are bringing some Christmas characters to life.
The Lynchburg Figure Skating Club held the sixth annual Christmas on Ice at LaHaye Ice Center.
This year's theme was 'A Storybook Christmas' and traditional favorites like Scrooge and the "ghosts" hit the ice.
The afternoon show was sold out with more than 700 people filling center and about the same for the evening performance.
And those performers are skaters of all ages and all levels and that work is really paying off.
because the skaters have been practicing since August and that requires a team effort.
"We're actually like a real big family and we just work so hard and the kids, it's an opportunity for them to feel like stars in their own community," Director of Lynchburg Figure Skating Club Yvonne Nelson-Reid said.
The Lynchburg Figure Skating Club also has a theater group that will start competing in January.
