There is always salsa dancing Friday nights in Lynchburg. From 9 p.m.- 10 p.m., you can get a beginner's salsa lesson and then join a group of social dancing until midnight at the Dance Theatre of Lynchburg. Cover is $5.
If you're a Seinfield fan, you can go to "A Festivus for the Rest of Us" Friday, Dec, 23 in Roanoke. The Shadowbox cinema will host the event to hold Festivus, the holiday featured in a Seinfield episode. It's at 8 p.m. and there will have food, drinks and live music.
There are two new movies coming out Dec. 21. "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is an intense drama based on a trilogy of books. The movie involves the main characters' fight to find the truth behind an old murder. It's rated R.
The much lighter and kid-friendly movie "The Adventures of Tintin" will also be out Dec. 21. Director Steven Spielberg kicks off the big screen trilogy with this computer-animated adaptation of the beloved Tintin comic strip.
