Friday, December 23 is the last day you can join in on "Holiday Nights" in Centertown Bedford. From 6 p.m.-p.m. you can get a horse and carriage ride at the Farmer's Market. Santa will also be at North Bridge Street to 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. for pictures, Christmas wishes and overall good holiday cheer.
If you haven't gotten a chance to go yet, the Elks Home Christmas light display is a must-see. The grand light display at the Elks national Home has about 50,000 light bulbs that adorn the trees, grounds and building. You can drive by and look at the display from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. each evening until New Year's Eve.
In Roanoke, you can show off your ice skating moves at the "School's Out" winter break skating fun. Dec. 23, public ice skating will be open1 p.m. – 5 p.m. It's $5 per person with an additional $2 for the skates.
If you feel like just relaxing, the movie "We Bought a Zoo" comes out Dec. 23. The dramatic comedy is about a man who buys a zoo in order to bring is family back together. It stars Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson and it's rated PG.
