Kevin Durant scored 32 points to lead Oklahoma City to its third straight win to begin the season in a 98-95 victory Wednesday night at Memphis.
The Thunder (3-0) jumped out to an early nine-point lead and led by as many as a dozen in the second quarter before the Grizzlies made two comebacks, taking their final lead, 76-75 on Zach Randolph's jumper with 9:40 remaining.
But, Daequan Cook followed less than a minute later with a 3-pointer that put the Thunder on top for good. A 3-pointer by Randolph with 1-point-8 seconds left pulled Memphis within a single point, but Durant sealed the win with a pair of free throws.
James Harden added 20 points off the bench for the Thunder and Kendrick Perkins added ten points. Russell Westbrook scored just four points and was 0-of-13 from the field. He did lead the team with six assists.
Randolph led Memphis (0-2) with 24 points.
Oklahoma City will look for revenge of its loss to the Dallas Mavericks in last year's Western Conference Finals when they host the Mavs Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
