Kevin Durant's 3-pointer at the buzzer lifted Oklahoma City to a 104-102 victory over the visiting Dallas Mavericks Thursday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Thunder trailed 102-101 with 1.4 seconds remaining when Durant rubbed off a screen and launched a fade away from about 28 feet. The shot was perfect and kept the Thunder perfect at 4-and-0.
Dallas jumped out to an early 17-to-5 lead before the Thunder used a 20-to-6 run to take the upper hand. Oklahoma City would lead by eight in the second quarter.
But the Mavs fought back in the second half as Jason Terry knocked down a 3-pointer with 39 seconds to cut the lead to 101-99 and Vince Carter added a trey of his own with 1.4 seconds left that set up the game's final moment.
Durant scored 30 points to lead all scorers and also had a team-best 11 rebounds. Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka each added 16 points and James Harden scored 15 points off the bench.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 to lead the defending NBA champion Mavericks, who slipped to 0-and-3 with the loss.
