Come out to Sweet Briar College for the "Bluegrass: Working on a Building" festival this Saturday, Jan. 7. The concerts will benefit the Amherst County Habitat for Humanity and will feature 8 bands. It goes 3 p.m.- 9 p.m. and it's $12 for adults, $12 for students and $5 for children.

It's that time when people start getting sick, and if you want to learn all about why we get sick in the winter, now you can! Amazement Square in Lynchburg is hosting it's "Fun and Fit Program:It's Viral!" this Saturday, Jan. 7 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m., experts will show you what viruses look like and what happens when they attack.
Join the community in Martinsville for the First Friday Art Walk on Church Street. This Friday, you can have a night full of art, food and live music. Galleries and shops will be open starting at 5 p.m. and there will be music at the Rives Theatre beginning at 8 p.m.
In Roanoke, the Tony-Award Nominated musical "Rock of Ages" hits the stage. The musical is about a rock love story told through the greatest hits of the 80s. It will be at the Roanoke Performing Arts Theater on Sunday at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $32 to $60, but hurry, there are few tickets left.
