Danville, VA. -  Danville Utilities has found a way to keep power costs down for its residents.

They have partnered with a plant in Freemont, Ohio to supply electricity when energy use is at its highest level.

The plant has assured officials that they will have a supply of electricity Monday through Friday- during its peak hours.

The company is called AMP Freemont Energy Center and began operation Friday.

About two-thirds of its power is coming from generators, which are powered by natural gas and steam.

Officials say the partnership with AMP will help to provide long term low cost energy for Danville Utilities customers.
