Roanoke, VA - It's a big weekend at the Roanoke Civic Center as two big shows share the complex this weekend.
The Roanoke Civic Center has been enjoying success over the past 18 months since Philadelphia-based Global Spectrum took over operations.
The big talk is about three nights of Monster Jam that kicks off Friday at 7:30 p.m. The popular event that does real well, drawing from all over the region.
And then next door is the Virginia Hunt Fest, which is in its inaugural year. There you can find just about everything you can think of related to the outdoors, which includes archery demos, a fishing pond and more.
You will also find a variety of outdoor related outreach programs, like "Hunters for the Hungry", that are using the chance to get their message out.
"We want to make people aware of our feeding efforts, our achievements but more importantly, we want to make folks, young and old, more aware of how they can become involved and help us feed those that are in need," said Gary Arrington from Hunters for the Hungry.
Both shows run through Sunday, so you have plenty of time to make it down this weekend. And to make things even more crowded, tickets for the return of Elton John also go on sale at the box office Saturday at 10 a.m.
