Fire Causes Major Damage to House

Pittsylvania Co., VA – A Pittsylvania County home suffered major damage in an overnight fire.

Fire crews from Brosville and Cascade responded to the home in the 1200 block of Cascade Road about 4 a.m. Tuesday.

When they got there, they saw heavy smoke coming from the front of the home and fire coming out of a rear window. They stayed on the scene for three hours.

The fire marshal says the blaze started because of unintentionally discarded smoking materials.
