Gretna, VA. - Gretna's own Matthew Pabo will appear in Steven Spielberg's film "Lincoln."
Matthew, 20, has been acting less than two years and landed a role as a Page delivering messages and running errands for legislators in the Civil War drama.
Thursday he said Spielberg was very friendly.
Normally film extras have to stay on the sidelines, but not the case on this film. He says he rubbed elbows with superstars such as Tommy Lee Jones, Sally Field and other Hollywood greats.
Most of his days on the set were spent in Richmond, where they used ground up saw dust to simulate old gravel roads and white Styrofoam to resemble White House columns.
Pabo also has a small role in a movie coming out this year entitled "Game Change." The film will primarily track the actions of the Republican Party during the 2008 Presidential Election, with significant focus on Sarah Palin as the vice-presidential nominee.
The role of Palin will be played by Julianne Moore, with Ed Harris as John McCain and Woody Harrelson as Steve Schmidt.
The film will be released in March.
Pabo has appeared in 3 films, and also performs with the Gretna Little Theater alongside his good friend Dan Taylour, who has 30 films to his credit.
"Lincoln," starring Daniel Day-Lewis in the title role will be in theaters in December.
