Amherst Co., VA - A minor is dead after her car ran off the right side of the road in Amherst County, overcorrected, crossed the center line and ran into oncoming traffic. It happened on Route 130 near Hans Hill.
State Police say the car was struck by an SUV just before 5:00 p.m., Sunday.
The driver and passengers of the SUV had minor injures and were taken to Lynchburg General Hospital.
Officials say the driver who died was also transported to the same hospital and was pronounced dead there.
Parts of Route 130 were closed off for about three hours and have since reopened.
