ROANOKE, Va. (AP) -- Appalachian Power is seeking state approval to build a $25 million electric transmission line that would serve Montgomery County, Christiansburg and Blacksburg.
The company says it filed an application for the project Thursday with the Virginia State Corporation Commission.
Appalachian Power says the new 7.5-mile line is needed to reinforce the electric grid and prevent overloads as demand for electricity increases in the area.
