Charlottesville, VA - Day five of the George Huguely murder trial in Charlottesville has begun with a bang. Friday morning, jurors got to see the police interrogation video made just hours after the death of Yeardley Love.
In it Huguely is told that his long-time girlfriend has died.
Because of the position of the courtroom, no one in the gallery can see the video. People can hear what's going on and see how the jury has been locked on every second.
The defense team has already mentioned this video in their opening saying it is very important to their case.
What it shows is the interview room where Huguely has been told he's answering questions about an assault. After half-an-hour, one detective asks the other, "Should we tell him?"
Then they say Yeardley is dead. Huguely becomes very emotional saying he didn't believe it.
When they tell him again, Huguely says, "I didn't do anything that could have killed her." Huguely insists when he left her she only had a bloody nose.
