Lynchburg, VA - Managers at pizza restaurants in Lynchburg are urging their drivers to be careful and alert after someone robbed a delivery driver at an apartment complex overnight.

It happened around 1 a.m. Monday at the Vistas at Dreaming Creek Apartments off Timberlake Road.

Apartment managers are warning residents to be on the lookout. They say they are considering having a community awareness meeting to talk about the incident with residents.

Police say the driver was trying to deliver some food when a masked man approached him with a weapon. The robber took the food and an undisclosed amount of money.

The pizza delivery driver was not injured, but it has definitely shaken the sense of security for some residents.

"It's scary because I didn't think nobody would do nothing like that here. Everybody speaks and talks to everybody," said David Britton, a resident.

Police are now on the lookout for the man described as a white male, about 5'8" and medium build. Police are also warning residents to be alert to any strange people or situations.

If you have any information about this robbery, call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-798-5900.
