Lynchburg, VA – Officials from Lynchburg's Department of Water Resources have issued about 200 boil water advisories to residents due to several main water breaks in the city.
Officials recommend people not drink tap water before boiling first.
The impacted areas include: 3400 block of Ivylink Place, 4400 block of Gorman Drive, 2100 block of Woodcrest Drive, 2200 block of Ridgewood Drive, 1700 block of Link Road, 200 – 500 blocks of Trents Ferry Road, 4700 block of Doyle Terrace, 1800 block of Clayton Avenue, 3100 block (even addresses only) of Rivermont Avenue, and 600 block of BonAir Circle.
Crews have been repairing eight water main breaks in the city Thursday. They say they'll be flushing the water system and collecting water samples.
Officials recommend residents in these areas boil water or drink from bottled water for drinking, making ice and preparing food in order to kill bacteria and other organisms in the water.
They will inform residents when it's no longer necessary to boil your water.
