You've seen them do their crazy tricks on TV, and now the Harlem Globetrotters are coming to Roanoke in March. The 2012 World Tour features the rookie class and includes the world's tallest pro basketball players, the shortest Globetrotter ever and the team's first ever female player in 19 years. Tickets are on sale for the performance March 1. They start at $18. Buy tickets here.

The DeMoss Rail Jam will be at the Snowflex Friday, February 17 in Lynchburg. You can watch competitors hit the rails on their skis and snowboards and then stay out for the dubstep rave and light show. The Rail Jam starts at 8 p.m., and the rave will go 12:15 a.m. to 2 a.m. The event is free.

Danville Science Center is having its free Sky Watchers session Thursday, Feb. 16. You can your family can come out at nightfall to get a look at the planet Jupiter and a couple of constellations. An astronomy expert will be there to take you through your visual journey of the night sky.

Also on Feb. 16, Poplar Forest and Lynchburg College are hosting "From Slavery to Emancipation," a panel discussion in honor of Black History Month. The event is free and open to the public and will be at 7 p.m. in the Sydnor Performance Hall in Schewel Hall at Lynchburg College.
