Halifax Co., VA - Officials say the southbound lane of Route 501 in Halifax County is closed after a logging truck overturned Wednesday.

Halifax Co., VA - Both lanes of part of Route 501 is closed after a truck carrying logs overturned Wednesday around 1 p.m.
According to Virginia Department of Transportation, the incident occurred near Route 783, Golf Course in Halifax County. Both lanes of US 501 are closed.
Officials say a tractor trailer hauling logs to Brookneal when the driver came around curve, lost control and the trailer tipped over and scattered logs in the southbound lane of 501.
The driver taken to Halifax Hospital complaining of head and hip pain.
Officials say they are investigating, but charges will be filed.
