Lynchburg, VA-February may not be the month you'd normally want to jump in a lake, but that is exactly what hundreds of people will do on February 25 for the Hill City Polar Plunge.
Each year, people sign up to take a dive in this icy cold lake, and some even wear costumes. Each plunger must raise a minimum of $50. The money raised goes to Special Olympics athletes in Lynchburg and the surrounding areas.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. February 25 at Camp Hydaway at Liberty University.
You can register on the event's website.
