Lynchburg, VA - Two local businesses are really stepping up to help the United Way of Central Virginia. Banker Steel and Centra have agreed to match any new donations made to the United Way up to $50,000.
This match applies to new donations or pledges made between now and March 15th.
The United Way has a goal of $3.1 million. Right now, they're about $75,000 short.
The companies say these donations are needed now more than ever.
"We have long recognized that United Way is one of the best places to put our dollars, and know confidently that those dollars will be spent in a way that will have the greatest impact on the community," said Bill Varner, Centra, VP of strategic planning and marketing.
