The Seminole District Tournament boys and girls championship games are set for Friday night at Heritage High School.
Wednesday night's boys action saw Amherst County defeat Heritage 61-54, while Rustburg beat Brookville 54-42. Amherst County, which got a career-high 31 points from senior Justin Thomas, will face off against Rustburg Friday night at 7:30 at Heritage for the Seminole Tournament championship.
Brookville and Heritage advanced to the girls championship game. Brookville held off Rustburg 60-49, Heritage outlasted JF 59-45. Regular season champ Brookville and Heritage will square off Friday night at 6 at Heritage for the championship.
Buckingham County advanced to the James River District Tournament boys title game. The Knights put five in double figures in an 80-66 win over Cumberland County. Buckingham will play at Amelia County Friday night in the title game. Amelia beat Randolph-Henry 61-54.
