Christiansburg, VA – Police have identified the pedestrian hit by a pickup truck Wednesday in Christiansburg.
Officials from the Christiansburg Police Department say at about 5:40 p.m., Joshua Leonard Carter, 23, was trying to cross the southbound lane of North Franklin St. when he stepped in front of a Toyota pickup truck.
Officials airlifted Carter to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he is still being treated.
The driver of the truck, 34-year-old Chiah Davis, stopped at the scene. Officials investigated and found there was nothing Davis could have done to avoid hitting Carter.
