Lynchburg, VA- A raccoon went on quite an adventure in downtown Lynchburg on Thursday.
Animal control officials say the raccoon was first sighted eating in a dumpster near the Holiday Inn Select on Main Street. Then the raccoon ran up a tree in front of the Bank of the James. The little critter stayed in the tree for about 40 minutes before the officer caught him.
The raccoon was released in a safe place. The animal control officer says the raccoon was not rabid, just very hungry.
