Clarence Sykes
Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg Police Department is now involved in a 30-year-old child sex case after the arrest of a teacher Friday in Portsmouth.
Police have charged Clarence Sykes, 57, of Chesapeake with two counts of indecent liberties with a minor.
According to investigators, Sykes used to live in Lynchburg and was visiting Portsmouth when he abused a boy in 1978 and 1979.
They say he used to be a substitute teacher here.
Lynchburg police say they have been contacted because of some things Sykes said when arrested.
