Snow Ends, Travel Remains Hazardous

Posted:

A Winter Storm Warning continues through early Monday because of poor driving conditions. All accumulating snowfall has ended.

Total storm accumulations have averaged 4-8 inches. Isolated amounts close to 11 inches have been reported, mainly in areas west of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Many roads remain snow-covered and slick, and icing is expected early Monday as lows will dip into the 20s.

There have also been many power outages reported across the area in Lynchburg, Bedford, Amherst, and the Southside, as well as communities in the New River Valley.

Monday will be sunny and cool, but no Arctic air will follow this snowfall.  Highs will go into the 40s.  The rest of the week also looks mild, so melting will go on quickly though the week. Enjoy the snow while you can!
