Lynchburg, VA - Fans of local country radio personality Robynn Jaymes held a fundraiser Friday evening to help pay her medical bills.
The event, called Rockin for Robynn, was at Lynchburg's James River Conference Center. Fans also set up a silent auction to raise some additional money for Jaymes.
In October, doctors diagnosed Robynn Jaymes with pancreatitis. The illness forced her off the air and in to mountains of pain and medical bills. Dragonfly and 7 Mile Ford performed at the fundraiser. One performer remembers her best memory of James' radio career.
"I just remember her from the 'warm-and-fuzzies' on 94.9 the star country radio. She would tell stories and she would call them 'warm-and-fuzzies' because they would give you chill bumps at the end," said Melissa Stevens, performer, Dragonfly.
As of 7 p.m. Friday evening, fans raised just about $2,200 for Jaymes. She couldn't be there in person Friday, but she did say 'hi' on Skype.
