State High School Wrestling/College Baseball:
Brookville is a half-point out of second place after day one of the VHSL State Wrestling Championships at the Salem Civic Center. The Bees have advanced six to Saturday's semifinals, Jefferson Forest has three in the semis, Staunton River one. Christiansburg, shooting for a 12th-straight state championship, is first after day one with nine wrestlers advancing to Saturday's semifinals.
