Charlottesville, VA - A Charlottesville jury is now set to decide the fate of George Huguely. Closing arguments in his murder trial are wrapping up as we speak. The judge must now decide if he will begin jury deliberation Saturday night or wait until court resumes Wednesday morning.

It is highly unlikely to get a verdict Saturday night. We're not sure if the judge will give the case to the jury. Even if he does, the general rule of thumb in any trial is one day of testimony equals about one hour of deliberation. And there has been eight days of testimony in this case.

Saturday morning, the defense saved their key witness for last. A neurosurgeon testified that Yeardley Love's injured brain was not consistent with blunt force trauma.  He says it appeared to be caused by asphyxiation. The prosecution aggressively went after that witness calling him a hired gun who agreed to be a witness for a price tag of $750 an hour.

Now in his closing, the commonwealth's attorney drove his point home, even appearing to cry at one point. He said this crime was not an accident describing it as intentional behavior that was willful, deliberate and premeditated.
