SALEM - Christiansburg won its 11^th Group AA State Wrestling Championship. Brookville had its best finish since 1976.

Christiansburg sent seven wrestlers to the finals and won six weight classes. Brookville sent three to the finals and won all three. Landon Curry, Derek Thurman and Victor Montalbano all won titles.

            Curry beat Jacob McMichael of Turner Ashby at 113 pounds.

            Thurman completed a perfect, unbeaten season by beating Devin Smith of Salem in the 182 pound division and 220-pounder Montalbano ALSO finished his senior year undefeated, beating Brandon Taylor of Christiansburg.

            Staunton River's Chris Tyree lost the 170-pound match to Christiansburg's Tyler Miles.

Grundy won the Group A title.
