Pittsylvania Co., VA - Slick roads were likely to blame for a fatal accident Sunday in Pittsylvania County.
State Police say 52-year-old Curtis Birchfield of Gretna was killed after his pickup truck went off the side of Route 640, hit an embankment and overturned.
This happened at about 5:40 p.m. Sunday as a wintry mix fell on the Southside.
Officials say Birchfield was thrown from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
