Lynchburg, VA - President's Day is a celebration of our first president's birthday, and we've had many memorable presidents since George Washington took office.
Dr. Clifton Potter actually met John F. Kennedy back in 1960. He says people today still remember Kennedy for his charm and warm personality. Potter says that's the key to getting people to remember certain presidents -- how personable they are.
He says the same could be said for Ronald Reagan, who was known as the "Great Communicator." And Potter says as the years go on, other presidents will be remembered with the changing times.
"One hundred years from now, Nixon will be remembered for opening up relations with China and for some other significant things that happened during his presidency so future generations will re-evaluate presidents of the early 20th and 21st centuries," he said.
Potter says he hopes a female president will be added to that last one day.
