Lynchburg, VA - The kids definitely took advantage of a day off of school in Lynchburg by enjoying the snow.
We found some kids sledding down a hill off Old Forest Road. They also decided to build a larger than life snowman.
Other kids didn't have as much luck finding a good hill to sled down. But everyone tried to make the most of the snow before it melted.
"I'm originally from New York so I'm used to having a lot of snow and playing in it, and I grew up in it, and down here we don't get it as often so when it does come you've got to get out and play in it," said Beth Schrock, a mom who took her daughter sledding.
We also found some kids sledding down the area known as "the dell." That's the big hill behind Randolph College.
