Power crews are still hard at work across the viewing area after thousands were left in the dark from the snow storm.
Appalachian Power officials say the goal is to have everyone in the Roanoke Valley back up and running by midnight Wednesday.
Roanoke and Roanoke County were the hardest hit. Those areas alone saw nearly 10,000 customers lose power over the past 24 hours.
The effort to get the power back on was hampered by the heavy wet snow bringing down hundreds of trees. In many cases, power crews needed to have overgrown foliage trimmed back before work could get done.
In all, more than 15,000 customers lost power in our area.
"As the snow begins to melt, that branch pops back up. And as it comes back up, sometimes that catches the line and makes new outages or even just cause a fuse to blow," said Todd Burns, with Appalachian Power Company.
Here's the latest look at outages in our area.
About 700 people are still without power in Roanoke County, 600 in Roanoke, and about 200 in Montgomery County.
Everyone in the Lynchburg area has gotten their power restored.
