Police: Driver of Stolen Car Wanted for Leaving Accident

Amherst Co., VA - State police officials are trying to find the driver of a car involved in a hit and run accident in Amherst County Tuesday night.

Officers say a station wagon was heading north on Route 151 about 8 p.m. when it crossed the center line and collided with a Ford Taurus.  

The man driving the Ford Taurus got out of the vehicle and ran off.  According to investigators, the Ford Taurus had been reported stolen.

EMS crews took the 37-year-old driver of the station wagon to the hospital with serious injuries. 

State Police say the station wagon was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Route 29 north of Amherst shortly before this crash.  Charges against this driver are pending.
