The Oklahoma City Thunder's Lazar Hayward will begin his return from injury with the team's D-League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers.
Thunder GM Sam Presti announced that Hayward, who has missed the past six games with an orbital fracture, has been assigned to the 66ers and is expected to be in the line-up when Tulsa hosts the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Friday night.
Hayward was acquired by the Thunder from Minnesota in the preseason trade that sent Robert Vaden and a pair of conditional second-round draft picks to the T-Wolves.
The 66ers could use Hayward's help. The team has lost three straight and eight of its last nine games to fall to seventh place in the D-League West Conference.
Friday night's game at the Convention Center begins at 7 p.m.
