Lynchburg, VA - The Mega Millions Jackpot has climbed to the third-highest on record - $363 million. Some people pick numbers by birth dates, anniversaries, social security numbers, and others rely on someone with experience.

They don't call Rose Nicholas a fortune teller for nothing. The psychic and tarot card reader says she's helped clients win up to $3 million playing the lottery. And she says she has struck it big.

"I won in Florida, the bingo, a lot of times," Nicholas said.

She says the most she's ever won is $150,000.

She suggested ABC 13 reporter Rachel Schaerr play six numbers for the Mega Millions -- 9, 7, 9, 11, 12, 6.

The odds of winning are about one in 176 million.

The owner of Sunshine Market says their ticket sales are up about 50 %.  She says people come in using all kinds of strategies.

"They'll have half cards and half easy picks. They'll have birthdays, anniversaries mixed in there, social security numbers, house addresses, a little bit of everything," explained Connie Anderson.

Patricia Wade is one customer who usually sticks to scratch-offs and her intuition. But even she's trying her luck at the Mega Millions, hoping the cards fall in her favor.

"That's a lot of money and a lot of wishing and hoping," Anderson said.

The psychic's advice to those playing Tuesday tonight?

"It's a big chance," said Rose Nicholas.
