Lynchburg, VA - More people booked flights at Lynchburg's airport last month - 12,000 people in all - which is 1,600 more than last February.
Airport officials say that's a slight decrease from February 2010 when Delta was still flying out of the Hill City.
Officials say warm weather brought out more passengers this year, and an improved local economy has also helped. They say 74 % of the flights were filled last month.
"The introduction of all jet service here at Lynchburg Regional Airport in winter has certainly made a difference. That combined with a lot of aggressive advertising on our part to be able to get the word out," said Mark Courtney, the airport director.
The airport offers six daily departures. They go to US Airways' hub in Charlotte.
