Roanoke, VA - Former Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine had some help on the campaign trail Thursday from Senator Mark Warner.
The two teamed up for a roundtable discussion at Virginia Tech Carilion. They met with school researchers as well as the leaders of companies who have come to Roanoke because of VTC.
Kaine talked about how his 2008 higher education bond package helped create the school and ultimately do great things for the area's economy. He says he wants to continue focusing on research and development.
"This is like 'exhibit A' of my economic plan because it combines growth, it combines talent and it combines balance. We only got that bond package done by working as Democrats and Republicans," said Kaine.
In a response this appearance, the Republican Party of Virginia says Kaine has always supported policies that have only made our economy worse, including the health care overhaul bill and the stimulus package.
There are four candidates vying for the Republican nomination, including former Governor George Allen.
