Family Injured After Car Flips in Roanoke Co.


Roanoke Co., VA - It was a scary scene for four people in Roanoke County Saturday afternoon after their car flipped, and landed upside down on Interstate 581, near Peters Creek Road.

State Police say around 4:00 p.m., Michael Kalandros, 30, of Baltimore, Maryland had some sort of medical emergency when he veered off the left side of the road into the median, corrected, and then overturned.

Witnesses tell police, when they approached the vehicle, the driver was foaming at the mouth.
State Police say there was an adult passenger, as well as two small children in the back.
Officials say the kids' car seats saved their lives.

They say the driver was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved, and State Police say they are not pressing charges.
