Lynchburg - Liberty built a 5-0 lead during the first two innings and then held off the Campbell Camels for an 8-6 win in game one of a Big South doubleheader, Saturday at Worthington Stadium.
Center fielder Andy Smith hits his sixth home run of the season in the first inning with a runner aboard to give the Flames a 2-0. First baseman Alex Close hit his fifth home run, two-run blast, to up the Liberty advantage to 7-2 at the time.
In game two, Liberty lost 7-6 in 10 innings.
