Lynchburg, VA - A little girl fighting a rare form of leukemia is getting some help from the community.

The 5K "Issy's Race" is part of the Lynchburg Road Runners series.

Issy Stover, 4, was diagnosed with T-cell leukemia almost a year ago. Issy has just finished her fourth phase of treatments at UVA. She goes back every month to get chemo and have her labs checked. Her mom says the bills are really adding up.

"The treatments she's been getting she's been responding very well to, and we couldn't be more thankful, and I really believe we're going to get through it," said Sarah Stover, Issy's mom.

About 260 people have already registered for the race, raising $5,000 so far. Organizers are hoping more than 400 people come out on April 21.
