Roanoke, VA - Miller-Motte Technical College has teamed up with Virginia State Police to bring the "Arrive Alive Tour 2012" to the Roanoke area.

The program, which features a texting and driving simulator, is designed to help teens understand the impacts of driving while distracted. Distracted driving is the number one killer of teens.

"You get in the car and they tell you, 'Ok just drive like you normally would.' Then they send you a text and you have to look into the screen, pick it up and text and drive. I wrecked. I didn't even finish my text and I wrecked. That was really impactful because had that been a real wreck, then I could have killed myself and anything passengers I had with me," said Jessie Kincaid, YOVASO member from E.C. Glass HS.

You can take part in the "Arrive Alive" tour when it stops at Miller-Motte's Tanglewood Mall campus. The event is April 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
