Lynchburg Firefighters Respond Quickly To House Fire



Lynchburg, VA-(Update)Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 2000 block of Grace Street right after 6:00 Tuesday night.

Investigators are calling it a roof and attic fire.

Most of the damage was minor water and smoke damage to the roof and attic.

Nobody was hurt.

It took firefighters 2 minutes to get there and 15 minutes to have it under control.

All roads closed in the area were reopened.

Red Cross officials are helping the 4 people who lost their home.



Lynchburg, VA - Fire crews are fighting a chimney fire on Grace Street in Lynchburg that started Tuesday evening. 

Officials with the Lynchburg Department of Emergency Services say Grace St. from Ann St. to Franklin St. is close to all traffic. Robins Rd. getting onto Grace St. is also closed.

Fire officials say the fire started in the attic, and they are still investigating. It appears damage was sustained on the top part of the home.

Red Cross officials say they are also on the way to help the family.
