Staunton, VA - Parts of Interstate 64 in Rockbridge and Alleghany Counties are still closed Wednesday as crews try to contain the fires.
The "Blue Team", a National Incident Management Team, is managing the attack on five of seven fires that are currently underway in the National Forest.
Parts of I-64 and four other roads remain closed because of wildfires that have burned more than 7,000 acres in Virginia.
The Virginia Department of Forestry says five large fires are burning in Alleghany, Craig, Page and Shenandoah counties. There also are numerous small fires across the state.
Detours have been set up.
