Hillcats Talk About 5-0 Start

Lynchburg -  The 5-and-0 Hillcats are off to their best start in the 18-year history of the Lynchburg Hillcats franchise.  They're going for 6-and-0 and a three-game sweep of Salem Thursday night at Lynchburg City Stadium.

Why are the Hillcats unbeaten?  You've got to talk about great pitching.
Lynchburg is allowing just TWO runs a game, while scoring just under SIX.  The 'Cats lead the league in batting average, slugging and on-base percentage.  The five-game winning streak is the longest since early June of 2010.

Tommy La Stella, HILLCATS SECOND BASEMAN, said "Every night for the most part it's been pretty much someone else who's picking up the run production, getting on base, stealing bases and scoring runs.  So it's really been a team effort."

Blaine Sims, HILLCATS RELIEF PITCHER, said "You're so much more relaxed and you pitch and you pitch a lot better when you're relaxed.  And that's pretty much all you can ask for starting pitching.  You give us three runs we should win the ballgame, I'm a firm believer in that."
